WHAT IS E-VISA?

. E-Visa is an online visa-issuing portal (www.evisa.gov.tr) which is created as an alternative for the visas isssued et Embassies/Consulates and at border gates. The portal is run by the Foreign Ministry of Turkey.

. E-Visa applications are done either for one individual, or for a family (min. 2 and max. 10 people) or for a group (min. 10 and max. 300 people).

. Only for touristic and trade purposes, e-visa can be created.

. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entering Turkey.

. The e-Visa fee is determined by clicking “Main Page > Apply” and selecting nationality.

. The payment can only be done by Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay credit/debit card.

. The e-visa fee can be paid only in US Dollars. If there is no a USD account, an equivalent amount in applicant’s local currency may be deducted from his/her account.

. Having made payment, the link to download e-visa is sent by e-mail to the applicant. It is advised to keep e-visa with traveller either as a softcopy (on tablet pc, smartphone etc.) or as a hardcopy during entrance to Turkey.

. Once the e-Visa is processed, none of the information on it can be amended. The information on the e-Visa must be exactly the same as the information on the travel document. Otherwise, e-visa will be regarded invalid and no refund for it is done.

. The e-visa application has nothing to do with Turkish Embassies or Consulates General. For any questions or comments, it is advised to contact the e-Visa Support Desk by clicking on “Main Page > Contact Us”.

What is E-Visa?

E-Visa is a document which permits entry into and travel within Turkey. The E-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at Turkish missions and at the ports of entry.

Having entered necessary information and made payments by a credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa or UnionPay), applicants obtain their visas electronically.

However, as in the case of other visas, respective Turkish officials at the ports of entry, reserves the right to deny entry into Turkey to a holder of an e-Visa without any explanation.

What do you need for my e-Visa application?

You need to have a travel document (passport) valid for min. 6 months from the date you intend to enter Turkey. Depending on nationality, there might be additional requirements.

What is the advantage of e-Visa?

E-Visa can be obtained easily anywhere with an internet connection. It saves your time.

Who is eligible for e-Visa?

Citizens of the following countries are eligible for the e-Visa on the condition that they meet required criteria:

Is it obligatory to enter Turkey on the exact date I said during my application?

No. You may enter Turkey on any date specified.

If the travel dates change, e-Visa amendment for change of date possible?

No. A new e-Visa application should be done.

How the information is protected during e-Visa application process?

The applicant has responsibility for the safety of the soft and hard copies of the e-Visa.

Do I need to obtain a separate e-Visa for people accompanying me?

Yes. Each person should have a seperate e-Visa.

if e-Visa is not used, is refund possible?

No. For unused e-Visas refund payments is not made.

Can I obtain a multiple-entry e-Visa?

The citizens of following countries can obtain a multiple-entry e-Visa:

Are there any restrictions on airline companies to fly to Turkey?

The citizens of the countries listed below, are required to travel with the airline companies (Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air and Atlas Global Airlines) which signed protocol with the Turkish Foreign Ministry .

The information on my e-Visa does not fully match the information on my travel document. Can I enter Turkey with this e-Visa?

No. In this case, the e-Visa is regarded as invalid. You must get another e-Visa.

In the case of staying in Turkey for a period of time longer than the e-visa permits. What should I do?

In case of staying in Turkey longer than e-Visa permits, the person must apply for residence permit.

E-Visa is issued just for tourism and trade purposes. For other types of visa (work visa, student visa etc.) Turkish Embassies or Consulates should be applied.

Please be informed that; If you overstay your visa, you might be asked to pay fines, deported or banned future travel to Turkey for a specific period of time.

On the e-Visa web page, credit card payments are secure?

E-Visa website maintains high level of security standards. However, the responsibility for any harm that may result from security vulnerabilities of applicant’s bank, computer or internet connection belongs to the applicant.

What should be done If some of the information made during the e-Visa application requires correction?

A new e-Visa application should be done.

I have completed my application. When will I get my e-Visa?

If the application is completed successfully, the link to download e-Visa is provided on the final step.

What should I do If I am notified by the system that my e-Visa application cannot be processed? 

Then, it is better to apply to the Turkish Embassy or Consulate.

Shall my payment be refunded If my e-Visa application is denied? 

If e-visa application is denied, no fee is charged.

When should I apply for e-Visa?

At least 48 hours before departure is better to appy for the visa.

If some information on e-Visa is different from the information on the travel document. Refund is possible?

No.

How much is an e-Visa fee?

E-Visa fee changes according to country of travel and type of travel document.
